PRIVACY AT COVELYO

Privacy, explained clearly.

This policy describes the information Covelyo handles when people browse the directory, contact a professional, apply for or manage a listing, claim a profile, or request support.

Effective July 18, 2026 · Last updated July 21, 2026
The short version

Covelyo uses personal information to operate the directory, verify professional listings, deliver inquiries, protect the service, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

01

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to covelyo.com and related Covelyo pages, forms, accounts, emails, and services. Covelyo is an insurance-professional directory and connection platform. Covelyo is not an insurance carrier and does not make underwriting, coverage, pricing, or claim decisions.

Insurance professionals and third-party websites have their own privacy practices. Once you choose to communicate directly with a professional or follow an external link, that party’s privacy policy may apply.

02

  • Directory inquiries: name, email, optional phone number, coverage interest, preferred contact method, message, and the selected professional.
  • Reviews: public display name, private email address, relationship to the professional, star rating, written review, moderation status, and internal moderation notes. Approved display names, ratings, relationship labels, review text, and review dates are public; reviewer email addresses are not published.

  • Support: name, email, topic, message, and any follow-up correspondence.

Information from public sources

Covelyo may use publicly available business information to create unclaimed directory pages. These pages are labeled “Unclaimed · Not verified” until an authorized representative submits current information and Covelyo approves the claim.

Information collected automatically

Covelyo records limited, aggregate activity counts such as directory visits, searches, profile views, inquiries, applications, reviews, and support submissions. These Covelyo analytics records do not include names, email addresses, IP addresses, cookies, or persistent visitor identifiers. Separately, hosting and security systems may process IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, security events, and essential cookie or session identifiers to deliver and protect the service.

If you choose “Allow analytics,” Covelyo also loads Google Analytics. Google Analytics may process pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, referral or campaign information, browser and device information, session information, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. Covelyo uses this information to understand traffic, improve the directory, and measure applications and inquiries. Google Analytics remains off when you choose “Only necessary.”

Covelyo does not ask visitors to provide Social Security numbers, payment-card details, medical records, or detailed health information. Please do not put sensitive information in free-text forms or unsecured email.

03

How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure Covelyo.
  • Display, review, verify, correct, claim, and manage professional listings.
  • Moderate, publish, reject, investigate, and manage community reviews.
  • Save and deliver directory inquiries according to the listing’s status.
  • Send account links, application updates, inquiry confirmations, and support replies.
  • Send up to three reminders over seven days when a verified professional starts but does not submit a listing. Reminder emails include an opt-out, and submission automatically ends the sequence.
  • Detect abuse, duplicate submissions, fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with law, enforce agreements, and protect users, professionals, Covelyo, and the public.
  • Understand and improve service reliability and usability.

Covelyo does not use inquiry details to make insurance eligibility, underwriting, pricing, coverage, or claim decisions.

04

How we disclose information

Covelyo may disclose information in these circumstances:

  • Selected professionals. When you submit an inquiry to a claimed and approved profile, Covelyo sends the inquiry to that professional. Inquiries about unclaimed profiles are held for Covelyo review and are not sent directly to the professional while the profile remains unclaimed.
  • Service providers. Vendors may process information for hosting, data storage, authentication, security, analytics, photo storage, and email delivery. They receive information only for services they provide to Covelyo.
  • Legal and safety reasons. Covelyo may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, investigate misuse, enforce terms, or protect rights and safety.
  • Business changes. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the service, subject to applicable law.
  • At your direction. Covelyo may disclose information when you request or clearly authorize it.

Covelyo does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

05

Public profiles and professional information

Approved profile information—such as professional name, practice, city, specialties, service areas, biography, website, public phone number, and approved photo—is intended to be public. License numbers submitted during review may also appear on an approved profile. Do not submit information for publication that you are not authorized to share.

Unclaimed pages use public business information and link to a source where available. To claim a page or report inaccurate information, use the controls on that profile or contact Covelyo.

06

Cookies, analytics, and security

Covelyo uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate and secure the service, maintain signed-in sessions, verify email access, prevent automated abuse, and route traffic. Covelyo’s own aggregate activity counter does not set an analytics cookie. Google Analytics loads only after you select “Allow analytics” and may then use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and interactions. Covelyo does not use advertising cookies.

You can accept, decline, or change this optional analytics choice using the “Privacy choices” button displayed on Covelyo. Declining analytics does not affect access to the directory.

Covelyo uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the information it handles. No internet service is completely secure, and Covelyo cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or information may be at risk, contact us promptly.

07

Retention

Covelyo retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, review and maintain listings, respond to requests, protect the platform, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and context. Information may remain in security logs, backups, or records required for legitimate legal and operational purposes after it is removed from active use.

08

Your choices and privacy rights

You may update professional application information through the professional portal. You can change the optional Google Analytics setting at any time using the “Privacy choices” button. You may also ask Covelyo to access, correct, or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a portable copy where required by applicable law. Covelyo may need to verify your identity and may retain information when legally permitted or required.

Authorized agents may submit requests where allowed by law. Covelyo will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. To make a request, use the support form and choose “Privacy request,” or email hello@covelyo.com.

09

Children’s privacy

Covelyo is intended for adults seeking insurance information and insurance professionals managing business listings. It is not directed to children under 13, and Covelyo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact Covelyo so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

10

Changes and contact

Covelyo may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the site or by email when appropriate.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent through Contact & support or by email to hello@covelyo.com.
